11 complex features of spread sheets

Automatic Calculation

The calculation is the process of completing formulas and then displaying the results in the cells instead of the formulas. When a formula is complicated, you can leave it to Excel to automatically calculate the formula correctly.

Dynamic update

To avoid unnecessary calculations, Microsoft Excel automatically recalculates formulas only when the cells that the formula depends on have changed. For example, if you make a mistake of some sort in excel and change one number, it will automatically update the previous numbers and change them based on the new numbers or formula's provided.

Data analysis (charts and graphs)

In Excel, you are given the decision to make a graph based on the table you have created, of your desire. You can also manipulate it to be any kind of them,  including a map of the world. If you want to present a particular world or country change, you can take your project to meetings and show them off, since it is a better way to provide an understanding of something using a chart as a presentation.

Comments and Notes

In Excel, you can make one document and share the document with different people. When someone has an individual comment, you are able to see a yellow triangle on the side of the cell it is basing its comment on. As well as comments the person or people can leave not only a comment but also a note, maybe a memory note for people to remember, this time there will still be a triangle at the edge of the cell the note is basing on. However, the difference is the triangle with a not is black. The colors are made different for people to notice which one is commenting and which one is leaving notes.

Text wrap, clip and column merge

When you write something down in a cell, and it goes past the length of the cell there is a format called the wrap that will allow you to write not across the cell but down towards the cell bellow in the same column. If you want to clip something which is moving across something the effect will be you will be cutting the letters that move past the cell. Instead, the column merge of two cells is when you put together two cells and join them to create one, it is the same thing as the wrap except when you wrap something you can still see the lines that separate each cell from each other.

Create a header
There are millions of cells, and you can see this when you scroll down, the column's numbers increase. When you click on the button separating columns from the rows, you will then drag a certain line towards where you want the header to be. Most of the time, header's are used to being the headings of charts, saying what the numbers or letters mean below it. Now if you scroll down the names which it was before still stays in its recent position.

Width and length resize of columns
When your columns are too small or too large, you can explore the width and length of the columns and rows you want and it will automatically largen it for you so that you can have it given a better size. You can do this by firstly click on the button that separates the column and the rows, this will select all of the cells, rows, and columns and then you must click the line that separates A and B then drag the line to chose the width of the cell. You can do the same thing with the length, here you had to pick the line that separates the columns 1 and 2 and wanted the size of all the columns if you only want to change one particular cell's size then only select that cell and so the same thing.

A linemate of text
If you want to change where the text is inside a cell then chose either the middle, bottom or the top of the cell. Firstly wanted a particular button with a surface and an arrow pointing to it. Chose either of the diagrams while having clicked an individual cell or even all the cells, and chose your pick, this will then change where the text is placed in the cell.

Data Validation

If you go under data and click on data validation, you can find a sort of box that shows you a certain amount of options. Click on the list for range, and then there are other options, you must click on the list of items. Type a few different things and separate them with "," in this way whenever you click on a cell, it will give you the option of the different things you wrote. For example, if I wrote "Rebecca, Lissa, Dina" then whenever I click on a cell it will show me the options to click either of those names.

Conditional formatting
If I use text validation, you will find that I can make rules which allow you to complete different things. To do this, you must go under formatting then under conditional formatting which will then turn out to the side of the sheet. Click on the text that is not empty.  Then go under text contains, afterward write anything you want in the writing space. Click on whatever color of text boldness and so on and once you click done to try to type whatever you just did in a cell. You can see that now, however, I changed the word has become a rule and is now completely exactly what you changed it to be either bold or different color or whatever you changed it to be.

Adding a Link to bring from one sheet to another

In Excel, you can have a choice of making any amount of spreadsheets bellow the sheet there is a button saying add click on that button to acquire the second sheet. If you go under insert, it will give you an option to add anything you want if it is a picture a graph and even a link. If you click on a certain cell and then on the insert link button you will find a series of buttons, click on "sheets in spreadsheets," then you will see sheet 1 and sheet 2 if you are ing sheet 1 click on layer 2 if you are in sheet 2 clicks on sheet 1. Once you are done, you can see your writing on the cell has been underlined if you click on the layer it will immediately transport you from sheet 1 to sheet 2.

Reflection:

I learned a lot of new features of excel along the way of doing this project, I was able to firstly look over excel and discover new things, and personally, I found these things quite fascinating, because I have never experienced this complexity while exploring excel. One thing that I found fascinating was probably conditional formatting because I had never experienced how things can change and stay that way if you only manipulate it to be so. Another really thought tracking thing was the data validation feature because when people take a long time to write something down, to believe that you will always have the option to choose from the different options is a really cool thing. Personally, I would say that my features were very complicated, especially understanding how fascinating they were, even by questioning how humans were able to create this, it would definitely involve a lot of programming skills, to be able to do all of these things. I also believe that they are quite useful features because mot of the time we come across these times where we are facing a problem, and to know that these problems are very often, it is a good thing that people were able to find a way to fix the problems. We as students, could use excel in a various amount of subject, mainly math, because we will be able to discover how to make charts, and graphs, and change them depending on our skills, also because we can use it for calculating, it is a good experience to work with a device, and since in the future excel will be useful for us as we will be able to organize ourselves by using this.  Also, we might also need it for science since there we are also learning about graphs.

Spread sheets

Spreadsheets are documents that are spread into many and various columns, they are mainly used for making graphs, some say they look sort of like tables, however, contain less amount of information. Spreadsheets are mainly designed to give ease to the user, in order to calculate, anything you want. Also, it helps you write things down. You can find most software use spreadsheets, software like excel, use them to be able to build graphs. The main people who use spreadsheets are, mostly workers if they are teachers, designers, and more. They use them during their preparations for presentations, to show how something has changed, or to compare different things.  Spreadsheets allow business people to combine the reporting of data with inbuilt, electronic calculations. I personally think that to do spreadsheets you need to have great research skills. I believe this because when filling a certain spreadsheet you'll need to research the topic you're deciding to associate with your graph. Since you will need to be very self-managed, so you also have to use the self-management skills. They are required because when making a graph you need participants, and calmness in order to be fully responsible for making a good and all in all appropriate table, according to on the topic you want to be educated. You would also need to acquire the skill of thinking. This is because most of the time people find that their researching skills come entirely from thinking. Once you have researched the information you need and found out in what method you want it to be used, you are then thinking about the table, it requires a lot of thought to fill spreadsheets because most of the time you'll find that you can get mixed up with your answers, and where and how they should be placed which is why you need to acquire these skills.

Tech Fair

Tech fair

I personally liked Beat Splash, because it was a really organized topic, Rebecca gave hard work and even made some really cool fliers. She collected suggestions from people and, explained it in a very detailed manner, I also enjoyed visiting the burglar alarm because it was also very interesting, and mainly very helpful. I liked the fact you could trick the burglar to step on the mat, also that by combining the wires it made a really annoying and especially alarming sound. These ideas stood out to me because they used hard work and time to figure out how to put it together. I think next year I should choose a less complicated and more attractive topic, also I would like to also make fliers next year since they made a lot of commercials. I also wanted to make the chart which Beat splash had about the comments because it was really helpful for her. Next year I want to make a project of entertainment because those are the projects with more clients. I also really liked other plans like the Robotic arm, because it was really hard to make, however, they were still able to do it.   Also, they made a really good movie, including Bloopers that attracted people to come to their project. Also, there was wifi signal that really was hard, however, was done and completed. I think that what was really amazing about the tech fair was to see and notice all the different projects and understand how they are used. During my time in the tech fair, I noticed that customers also mainly enjoyed coming to our project because of the idea we had about pets, they thought that was cool, and we also made a presentation that stood out, also that we had a slide about I movies, that made them come to our project. All in all, the tech fair has been a new and fun  mostly interesting day to experience, and I can't wait to do it next year.

Criteria C-creating the solution

1

The first thing we did was make the poster, then unfortunately our poster was ruined because of the rain so we had to start again.
Secondly we began to make the box and the in all structure of the box. This was especially difficult because most of the things we didn’t have.
Then later on we programed the technological materials which were the continuous rotation servo and the Arduino board. We programed it specifically to feed.
Afterwards we stuck everything together to then finish with an automatic pet feeder. We applied all the materials into the box and began to make attempts.
Later on we finally painted our project by adding paw marks, this wasn’t a complicated step since we were able to completed rapidly.

Making the project:

During the stage of making the product, I found challenging the stage of getting all the things we need, in fact we also seemed to have missed three important wires to connect all of the servo to the Arduino uno board. What was easy was mainly, to make the base or the box, for this we were very successful. And the box looked much better then the model we were designing it from.

Final project:

Our final piece has every thing ready, it is all put together, though, the catch is that one wire to do the automatic process it missing, so we weren't able to proceed successfully we are though, currently on the go to find a wire to generate the power for it to function, though we hope we will have everything complete by the actual tech fair. We are very disappointed of the wire incident though, all in all despite this we gave a hard work and time to the project, though i must be honest and say we weren't able to organize ourselves very well. Also this is because we put all the work to the last minute, and in year 8 I think that would be something to remember when we will have to do the project again. Also make sure to hand myself an easier task, since it is completely complicated to make what we were able to make, though were just at the line to succeeding.

Making the poster:
Personally, making the poster was my biggest success. We were able to digitally create designs and then use then as text box's. We made a bone for dogs digitally using shapes and pens to make it, also we made a tennis ball, which was pretty hard because we always had to change the size to see if we could get just the right size. Then there is the food dispenser, which I am personally proud of, because I changed the color, made it appealing and changed the font. I am very satisfied with the poster especially because we put a lot of effort making the digital part of it, to use the skills we learned in the IT unit of advertising. Also one example of this was using a slogan, which was "Food's to sniff at." using the verbs "sniff" explains it is for dogs, and food means it is related to feeding pets, or animals.

Criterion A-Inquiry And Analysis     26/01/2016

The Art-bot was a good idea that I found, interesting to conjecture that for people who can’t draw similar to me, could be capable of having a bot that can draw for them. I am not precisely sure it will work, however, it wouldn’t be a valid idea if the robot only draws scribbles. The robot's function is to allow people who can't draw, an inspiration. The robot works by having firstly a cup as a body. The legs will be the markers, this will allow the bot to draw. Once it begins to walk using its legs/ markers it will also begin to draw.

This project was developed by normal 12-year-olds in a science fair project and soon came around to the world. This project isn't really helpful to the society but is useful towards people who can't draw so they can get inspired. Mostly because normal kids who can't draw don't want to try and instead tell themselves they are horrible. They think that because they aren't able to draw successfully doesn't matter however if they are able to see the robot they will be inspired to progress their drawing skills.

Reflection:
I pointed my research on other people's ideas for tech fairs in order to receive a proper tech project. I found many sites with different kinds of projects and unique ones that are helpful to society however one particular stood out to me so I decided to research further on the ideas that it had given me. One thing that failed when I did my research was that the sites were based on science fair projects and not tech fair projects and the science ones where more children related, however, I began to feel  un shore of the sites I found until I saw that both were equally similar with the same types of projects that related to technology.

Task 4:

Design Brief:

During the project, me and my partner, Tsumugi are making an automatic pet feeder. Our aim is to allow pets of any kind to provide themselves with food without anyone needing to dispense it for them. Pets and owners will appreciate this because it can give them the possibility of going places for a very long time without needing to provide their pets with food. The design will include a pet food dispenser especially an Arduino sensor. We will need a bowl, servo cardboard, dispensing wheel, button, and a food holder or a serial or conflicts dispenser. Mainly it will be used from pet owners, however, around our communities, most people don’t acquire pets so they aren’t our aim of people using it. Though however in common sense, it will be used with families around the world who have pets or it can also be used for our own food as well. Though, we are aiming it to pets in general.
